Welcome
Welcome to Natures Notes - meditations on wild places, human nature, creativity and a slower pace of life. Consider this a field guide to noticing - how landscapes shape us, how we move through nature, and how it reflects the human experience.
Here, I explore the connections between nature, creativity, and mindfulness. If you find yourself watching light move through trees or sense how a place shapes your mood, feel solace in wild spaces and contemplate life's existential questions, you’re in the right place.

About me
I’m a saltwater island girl who grew up in Dublin. Now, I live between the lush green subtropical escarpment, coastal heath, and the South Pacific Ocean on Dharawal Country, Australia.
I’m happiest exploring rockpools, swim-dipping, or bushwalking. Some of my fondest memories are simple ones—picking radishes and runner beans in the garden with my parents or watching the golden laburnum sway, alive with bees.
During the pandemic, like many, I found solace in slowing down and paying closer attention. Time in nature became more than just an escape—it became a way to listen. I trained as a nature and forest therapy guide, deepening my understanding of how nature heals and connects us. Alongside rekindling my connection to nature, I deepened my decades-long mindfulness meditation practice and returned to creativity—especially writing, which led me to Substack.
Here, I write, share images, and try to bring some of my love for nature into the digital space. Thank you for reading. I'm still amazed that people are subscribing and following along—it truly means a lot.
